Wolfman, most (not all) members on this site, have lots of opinions about lots of things, it seems however, that the majority only feel the need to share about certain topics. And of course any thing that can be complained about :violin:

Perhaps the reaction people give when a member different to what they have specified responds to a post or advert, is EXACTLY why certain members push buttons. 

Kind of like feeding a pet, the more you do it, the more they look for it. 

Yet, since it was posted in 2015.  .  .  .  . it has had nearly 1300 views!!!!!

It's like coffee granules . . . goes into water one way, lands up being something different afterwards. Still coffee, but different.

Me thinks that if it was 22 single females and 2 single males . . . somebody would still complain about the 2 single males 

Having been one of the very regular contributors of recent past, I would tell you a slightly different story as to why the forums died.

One of the reasons was simply that everytime somebody contributed something, they got shot down in flames and were accused of 'hi-jacking" a topic. Funny thing was though, those same members who complained about this were the first to complain when the forums were quiet.

There are countless reasons though . . . . . .

A typical "be yourself, just differently" situation . . . . . 

The part I have never been able to compute, is why said preferences are only an issue in one particular direction . . . . . 

Just a thought, maybe the majority of people look at groups like they look at facebook? 

(As in miss the point completely)

@Wolfman, dealing with posts of a certain nature, and not having your views taken as law . . . . somewhat of a difference there.

While I am almost entirely of the same view as yourself, I think the problem is that people were never really allowed to have opinion. Whenever a person did, there was a particular Mod who was very quick to pour water on said opinion. 

Anyway, like you say, the forum is not what it used to be, or even what it could be. The only way (seemingly) to get people to give input, is to bring up the cultural differences in the country, or alternatively to jump down someone's throat for sharing their opinion. 

But, this is of course only my opinion. 

90% of people who use the term, probably just heard it somewhere and don't even know what it means.

while I almost agree with what has been said about ownership etc etc etc, the bigger picture is still the impact it has on other people . . . . children, husband . . . .

I simply don't keep those kinds of pics on a phone. Mostly because I have teenage children, but yes, also because to er is human.
