Men are pigs! They will do just about anything to get a leg over. Lie, cheat, pretend, etc. Here is an interesting fact: Men want sex, they want it all the time. Most will just come out straight forward and ask for it. Some will lie and make the prospecting partner believe that they do not want sex and that "noble intention" is attractive to females so they end up giving it up.
I personally do not believe there is such a thing as a "decent" man. There are only men who pretend to be decent. I do however believe that there are men with self control. By this I mean men that want and need sex as much as the next horn-dog but have sufficient control to not resort to deviant means to get it.
Females in general are still pretty decent (there are exceptions and nymphos do exist) and men have learned that a forward approach does not work, so they make the "prey" believe that they are not after sex, this gets them one step closer to the forbidden fruit. I do believe there is a place for porn but would actually really be interested to see something a woman has made/directed etc, as a sure that first more woman would watch it and secondly then it would show men that yeah some of us do like all sort of things but that there are normal ways to get them and enjoy them not the bog standard version as described previously. 50 shades of grey (which I have not read or seen) goes against all this new age "woman power" focus. Oh no, actually the whole world doesn't think this is the greatest thing at all, there's a HUGE outcry against the thing - sure they're making a CRAP LOAD of money - but there's a massive big deal being made even by the actors in the movie, about how absolutely utterly shit the whole thing really is. It's a complete failure by any other standard except how much money it's made... You're quite right though, it's an awful story actually - about an abusive and manipulative man and a sad and impressionable virgin who is manipulated and trapped into an abusive and awful relationship with him. And it's "kinky" apparently - as far as I can tell - only coz the dude is rich - if he was poor and lived in a trailer in the woods... the story would probably have been a Criminal Minds episode!
