What makes good album or profile pictures? Gratuitous shot of penises and gynaecological shots of vaginas? Or kitsch boudoir shots? Or is it the shots where people have actually rented a studio and a photographer? Or is it normal everyday shots? The ones that aren't trying too hard. The ones that leave a bit to the imagination. They're sexy but not over-the-top. I personally am of the opinion that if I wanted to look at dicks and vaginas I'll sooner go to my favourite porn site. At least there the shots are decently taken and art directed. But perhaps I'm in the minority here. I would genuinely like to hear people's views on this given the fact that the attention you receive on this site is based largely on the pictures you upload.
I share the same view, keep the excess private part shot in private albums. I also enjoy the sex pics but they actually also put me off contact when it gets excessive. Personally I like a nice mix of everyday shots and some sexy pics with the fun bits covered, that's more exciting.
I prefer tasteful sexy pics, mystery is sexy. I try doing that lol hope it comes across as such though. I just love love love torso shots of well built men. They beat penis shots hand down in my opinion. Then again maybe thats just me,the guy im seeing said its refreshing that i never asked for a pic of his penis.

Good question Private and I wouild like to chip in here with my opinion without being technical. I agree with a lot of the opinions but would like to shed some "light" (pun intended) on some of the pics and a bit of technique. Being a photographer I look heavily at the technical quality and aesthetics of the pics. It is frustrating to look at a pic with low quality.
The majority of the pics on this site were taken with cellphones because they are so damn handy. One of the main drawbacks with a cellphone is the fact that they need alot of light to produce a decent pic.
So if you have to do selfies and cannot afford a decent photographer please take note of the following :
* First impressions count. If the picture is of a low quality people tend to move on
* Lit yourself well. Im not talking studio lighting here, but natural light sources like windows and doors. Stand close to these if possible but avoid direct light. Dont forget the soft light through curtains. That is the reason why wedding photographers always pose the bride next to windows and curtains :-)
* As mentioned avoid direct sunlight. This is a very harsh form of light which cast dark shadows over eyesockets etc
* Pay attention to focus and composition in a photo. Composition is the arranging of elements in a photo. In this case I mean cutting off limbs and parts of body. Focus is self explanitory, a badly focussed shot is not going to cut it. Cellphones need a lot of light to focus
* Be creative. Pictures that look ordinary does not have the same impact than those who look different to the normal ones. With this I mean to take pictures from say different angles or interesting lighting
* To those with access to DSLR cameras, use a macrolens for interesting "blurring out" or "Bokeh (photgraphers term)" of the background
* A last tip to those who doesnt know Photoshop but try their hand to it. Few things look as bad as that stark painted out or painted over part of your pic. Rather change your location or angle if you want to hide something in the background
Now I know that some will pop over to my profile to see how my pics look. Nothing special sorry. I took them in a hurry with my iPad. I will rectify that at some stage
Cheers
@ Charlieme And that I did, rushed to your profile to view your pics....SADLY no pics, except a genital one. I do agree pics are very important, as a NON photographer, but I know what I LIKE and think is nice pics. I agree back ground on photos tend to show more of us than what we intend to show. Genitals IN YOUR FACE shots are really also no NO for me personally, but saying that I also LIKE raunchy and naughty pics, but I also always try and cover up what I feel Is slightly private, for me that is. A well written profile is something I LIKE, it tells me about a person, does he/she know him or herself and it does tell me if we have something in common. A pity that NO ONE seems to write or read anymore these days!!! A previous forum Lee posted, also touches a very important issue, grammar and spelling. Now as an Afrikaans speaking person my grammar in English is not that good, but I do thank goodness for Spell checks.

we have most of our pics in albums, which we open to those that we think are meeting material, profile pic is just cause i think wifey has a gorgeous ass :Plolbiggrin:inlove::silly: some people go overboard on the high detailed close ups, one or two is fine, but seriously (no jokes, have come across it) 50 od pics of your dick.......????????????????????????????? personal preference is full body pics, dressed or naked and face pics, the juicy bits we'll see if we end up playing with you
Perhaps they think that more is more? Yeah, look, I like to know what it looks like but it's not the part of you I want a gallery of smile
