The beach has always been there, we’ve been going there for 15 years. But legal is better. So in the end it all worked out well. We suddenly have a whole bunch of friends without hidden agendas. The whole weekend went smoothly like one big family get together, not one ugly word said to anyone. Do yourself a favour and look at all the clips on youtube. One couple took a special liking to us and that night we had a ball. They were first timers so they were wet and stiff from the obligatory communal shower (hey if you’ve washed it you can eat it). Like kids in a candy store… younger than us but they enjoyed the candy as did we. Page 5 of Sunday Times shows us together. Us in the sea, and them on the beach. But Gettyimages of the French media (AFP) posted a perfect shot of the four of us… The people on the beach were as varied as you can get, and surprisingly 80% Afrikaans.
