So doggedly I spurred myself
To run the aimless treadmill
Of the life I thought I ought to live
And never heard the music
Inviting me to dance.
While I pursued prosperity
So I could meet
The clamoring wants of those
I thought I ought to please
I failed to hear the whispered needs
Of my slowly starving soul.
While I postponed the things I longed to do
I squandered life on trivialities
And deemed myself immortal:
And only now it is too late
Do I appreciate
What I have missed.
P.S. Written for people to realize life is also about having fun, instead of chasing dreams which might never become a reality. Life is to short to not enjoy..........
