A transgender female(Me), or trans woman, is a person who was assigned male at birth but identifies and lives as a woman(which I do). Being transgender means that an individual's gender identity — their internal sense of being male, female, or something else — does not align with the sex they were assigned at birth. A trans woman transitions (e.g., by changing her name, pronouns, appearance)( I have done for 8 years), medically transitions (e.g., through hormone therapy)(I have done)(surgery - I am saving up for approx R500k). It’s important to respect a trans woman’s identity, use her chosen name and pronouns, and recognise her as the woman she is.
