Yesterday late afternoon I was shocked at the rudeness of one of the chat room moderators. I have submitted a ticket, but suspect they are so in each others' pockets nothing will come of it.
So I wonder, who moderates the moderators who seem to think they are above courtesy and accountability?
Can assure you that they not own or have shares in the site. They do the job for the love of the site and receive not a cent for the job. They do it for free and they not even family, why would they protect each other.
Well fact is if you talk aboult somethink they don't like not breaking the rules but some think they don't like or there freinds then they take action .
I also agree the moderators or what ever they are do have a problem see below
I was on here news eve to cut a long story short the topic of fire works came up. Some one said people who use fire works are idiots as they don't know they upset animals .
Now I said I know fire works upset dogs ect but also some plike fire works and a lot off people don't have animals so it's there house there garden that's why the they do it I think ( not takeing sides) .
So the I was told very in a rude way I don't know the laws shut up.
So I said I was just saying in a general way I was then warned by a moderator and every one cam down.
So it went on a bit then I said some countrys allow fire works on news eve at night time between certain times and they advise there dogs ect to go in side ect .
I was then told thats enough by a moderator I asked what's the problem as this is a chat room and we haveing a general chat a topic off fire works right or wrong ?
I was then kicked from the chat room !!!!
That's what happened when i received a speeding ticket, i was never wrong and accused the people of corruption, racism, making money, looking after there maatjies, and the taxis all speed but nobody fine them.
There are a thousand reasons why it could not speeding. The reason i am never wrong, as-well as my people near to me.
But there are evidence of the speeding, but in SH case its thumb sucking, to be part of the people complaining because that's our nature to down run authority.
Now i want to play they player, come on Respect put your mouth were your money is, as well as your name "Respect", bring the eve dance and show us wrong, as we have respect for the Mods.
Woody hope you report the Mod, because that mite be the same Mod who been accused by spanky, that means somebody misused his powers.
I will still argue there are good mods on the site
There are good mods on the site. I've seen them in the chat room during the weekdays, and I want to give them a shout out for being fair and above all - POLITE. Interesting you bring up two things that are worthy of thought: authority and friends. The dude who decided to make a derogatory remark couldn't answer me when I asked him what he meant. Instead of owning his words, he kicked me from the room. His mates were patting him on the back and loving the fact that this mod had just puffed out his cyber chest to prove he's the alpha. You say the Mod's mates were patting him on the back and loving the fact he just puffed his chest . . . . . . now if you were just kicked from the room, I have to wonder how you are aware of this? Do you have another member telling you this info?

Ok, but then it would seem as bumping someone out the room is pretty powerless. If someone has done something worthy of being bumped, they should at least have a penalty period.
Moderators are doing this in an effort to help make the site more useful for themselves and for us. Maybe people should cut them a little slack.
Maybe your comments seem fine to you (and they probably do, otherwise you probably would nit have said them) but what if they were offensive to other members who then complained? Doesn't help all you do is blame the Moderator.
Like Adonis said, it's in our nature in this country to run down authority . . . . this is a free service to us all, the least we can do is abide by the sites rules, whether we agree with them or not.
I want to jump in here and also **lay my egg**
WHY should anyone EXPECT to be given TRUST and authority over anyone if those same persons can not relate in humane and polite way to people?
I know they are trying to *keep* bad elements out of SH and the chat rooms and forums and keep everyone sorta inline.
but I feel some Mods did get a burst of Self Importance and think their word is law and must always have the last say.
I myself and anyone on here on SH as well as ANY Modurator should earn trust and then I am sure the majority people on here will gladly give it,to each other.
It is NOT just something you GET when made a have to earn it!
So what I really saying is the Mods must be a little more tolerant and NOT get personal in any dispute,they need to stand back and evaluate what is wrong and then try and rectify the situation with out embarrassing the people involved.
I once said a mod should actually know something about human nature, Know lots a bout sex, and KNOW how a site is run and to make sure they KNOW what they are doing before just becoming a Mod.
and we the *normal* people should not PLACE any one on a pedestal just becasue they are mods.
We from our side should remember they are just as human as us and can also make crossly and sometimes a little spiteful, BUT Mostly because they believe they do the right thing....but it just shows how human they are.

Well Adonis thanks for giveing me te lesson in speeding very helpfully information . The point you bring aboult evidence it was a live conservation in the chat room I don't know if they record it and keep them or how it work so if does kicked or removers from the room I don't what path of complaint you take ? I still think the moderators look affter themselves and there friends on here and I wonder if a moderator was only allowed to observe and not join in with any think at all on this site ? .

Must say I did not know. Do I owe any Moderators an apology? Rumpledforeskin, at some point on this site everyone of us is likely to be misunderstood, hell, it happens to me almost daily on this forum, but the thing is, at this point people are only complaining about the Mod's, which kind of proves what Adonis is saying about South Africans and their views on Authority . . . . . . .
Mods are members of this site and have all the rights, that mean he is part of the site, and he or she can chat and have discussions on the site.
Yes there are record of everything on the site except whispers. If you give the time and date or copy paste the chat in a support ticket, i can assure you the problem will be investigate. With a support ticket the complain lands on the table of the Admin people and not the mods
