THEORY OR PRACTICAL...WHICH SHOULD COME FIRST?

This is for all the sexy, open-minded, hedonistic, honest peeps on SH: Before loading a profile on SH (or any other swinger's site) did you read/google/research some factual knowledge about swinging or the lifestyle, as to how it works, expectations, rules, principles etc? If no, to the above: what did you expect to achieve after loading your profile on the swingers site OR what made you decide to load a profile on a swingers site? As a relatively experienced, hedonistic, purist lifestyler I am curious as to the thought process and initial expectations, as I find the human psyche fascinating. Personally: I researched and read as many factual, reliable sourced articles on swinging and the lifestyle that I could get my hands on and made sure that I had a fair understanding of the definitions; theoretical operations; rules; principals etc The latter was achieved around the same time as I completed loading my first profile on a swingers site. Your story/experience?

I expected to meet people so I just jumped in with no over the top expectations and it has worked out better than I thought

I did read about the lifestyle before attempting. I went to clubs first and learnt a lot more there. I joined the site to broaden my friends circle.

I just got my very first computer as a birthday present. As a really *GOLDEN oldie* I was bored and just wanted to perv on a Swinger site as there was NOTHING like *swing clubs or sites * in my active time as a *single swinger* in the late 1970`s. It all was hush hush ,and you had to know *people who knew people and who had private get together. I googled *swinger* and good gosh sites JUST jumped out at me.... So I just jumped in and joined to read and chat to people, Not expecting to ever meet anyone!!! and was not really keen to do so expecting anything. How ever soon it was NOT enough and I had to meet some of the people behind the up with some great people. I DID NOT PLAY with most of them of course, who does anyway. My profiles evolved as I did....just to revolve BACK to where I am now once again,back to chatting only. Currently I expect nothing from no one.

10 years ago I met a girl, I liked her and started dating her. She introduced me to the lifestyle and through meeting people I learned more about it. I would say what attracted me to the lifestyle the most was the general non-judgmental attitudes of people I met back then. But over the years this has changed somewhat. (2c in the opinion jar)

Well Well Well Let me start by saying we a cpl did not have much. Because been your own boss is not easy. You work longer hours and you put in more effort than usual and to make matters worse the work I do scares the living shits out of every one. So we as a cpl spoke about it and we thought it would be fun trying to make friends this way. Friends with benefits How nice. Well it has not worked out that way so far. Reason for that is the following. When meeting another cpl it always comes up. What work do you do. And once i tell them that is the last a person sees that cpl. Example we went to meet a cpl over the weekend once they heard what work I do well that was it. They could not leave fast enough. In the last 5 years we have been in the game we have only meet 1 cpl that has not run away because of my work. In fact the lady of that cpl says she understands my job as she executes warrant of arrests on men that do not pay their maintenance. She also said once people hear what she does they also run like hell. Our wish is to meet people became friends have sex and still stay friends. If your work does this to your swinging friends, surely your attitude/the way you treat people and your general demeanor would rather show the opposite you? The good person that you are? Or do you "bring your work to home"?

Well to start with, well done Joyrider, you have managed to get a bunch of "sex on the brain" people to think about something else (insert laughing smiley face thingy here) So, why did I join SW? well to be honest, I "discovered" the lifestyle many years ago with my then Wife, the club life style was not really my scene, so I thought that maybe a Site like this might make it easier for the initial approach. has it been successful? well, I think we all have different interpretations of success when it comes to Swinging
