Redbruce suggested a while back that doggers that is ready for dogging to put a red cloth or something red over the inside mirror of your car
Does that work or is there a other method for identification
There were a nice little *dogging* community 3 years ago in Gauteng, they used a feather to identify themselves.
Here in Capetown the people I know who sometimes go *dogging* uses a seashell. Not sure if it is still in use.
A lot of people still seem to suggest in their posts / adverts the use of a red item clearly visible (in the car - on mirror, dashboard etc), or to wear / hold a red clothing item (shirt, handheld item etc). But I have had very little feedback as to whether this has been a helpful suggestion or not... So I'm not sure how widely it is used or how successful it has been (would LOVE to know!). All I know is that, the day after I suggested it, got myself a piece of red cloth and hung it on the mirror at a regular dogging site, a guy drove up to me and said "you must be redbruce, right?"!
But the other commonly-used suggestions are the open car door while parked up, park-lights turned on when arriving at the site, towel or even high-heels on the dashboard! Some of these could just be "normal" actions by "normal" folks who have no knowledge of or intention of dogging, so you could get yourself into trouble if you jump to conclusions....
The hand-held feathers certainly worked well for us that one day at Germiston Lake!! ;-)
There just doesn't seem to be any "universal" sign for identification. I sometimes use the combination of red item on mirror, park lights on and open door... but I have never seen anyone else doing it!
Here in v d Bijl it seems to work by parking and leaving your park lights on
