So I am selling my speedboat and have an interested buyer. I decided to take the girlfriend, kids, and some friends out for the day for a bit of skiing and boating fun. Sort of a "last blast" before it is sold. We went to the Vaal.
First a bit of skiing for my son and some tube fun for Katie and friends. Then I wanted to do a bit of skiing but my other half not so good at driving the boat so my skiing attempts were short lived. A braai on the banks and another ride... This time (luckily) the kids remained on the bank with one female friend and the rest of us went out on the water.
I spot a catamaran and go a bit closer, just to see a couple (oldish, maybe 50's) going at it like rabbits. His white ass bouncing in the sun, her legs in the labour position! At first I thought "wow, nice to see a couple of that age still at it and being spontaneous"... Then I thought about the fact that the Vaal dam is public and many people do their boating there... WITH THEIR KIDS!!! Thank my lucky stars that the kids chose to remain behind for that boat ride.
Just thought I would share this because I think that is very wrong to do it in a place where kids could see...

As far as the media & entertainment sectors are concerned, they run off money and are targeted at adults. Fully agree on the point of privacy, the Catamaran is not a public place, they might be the owner of the catamaran, the same as my house is not a public place but in a public domain, but if your curiosity is so big you go nearer the private domain to see what happened there.

Just to be clear. The catamaran was adrift and not sailing. In the boating world, it is common etiquette to help fellow skippers if they are in trouble or have suffered a break down. I approached the vessel to see if everything was ok. And - er -... Everything was more than ok from what I saw... he he he.
Also, we were not too from the banks of a busy resort. I was not the only boat out there. I too have anchored and had "fun" with my girl... BUT... At remote areas of the Vaal (never at smaller dams), mostly on the Oranjeville side across from farm lands where there are no resorts. And my boat is a exstaski... If I am frolicking on the floor of my boat between the seats or in the bow then one would have to come right up to my boat and look in to see what was happening. A catamaran is basically a taught net for a deck set between two pontoons with a large sail, no hiding place there.
Stamina, I would have been one of the first to have gone to investigate and assist if I even suspected there was a bit of nookie happening on the catamaran! In fact, did so earlier this year at one of the other large dams, but unfortunately they weren't playing, just parking off and "having lunch"?? on the water while drifting with the breeze.
If your couple were so close to a resort, they should definitely have been exercising more discretion! But then, maybe they had been at it for a looooong time, and were unaware of the direction they were drifting in...
