Arts Festival in Grahamstown
What?! people are coming here? Bugger I was hoping for a nice quiet week... guess that idea's all shot to hell...
Ha ha ... that pretty much how all the locals feel 
I suggest any travellers make an effort to eat in the evenings at "the long table" - a festival only restaurant setup in the main road between the cathedral and the arch (bout half way) where everyone sits at super long tables (so it's normal for complete strangers to end up sitting next to each other and chatting) - and wear a green or purple feather somewhere on their person so that people walking past can see them and then say something like "oh you have feathers!" And you'll have to respond, "it's my lifestyle" so that people will know they are both lifestylers coz the place is FULL UP TO THE BRIM with feather wearing hippies so you could have just met one of them!
Though they tend to be very nice people, they may not be up for play... :twisted:
How's that? No guarantees but if you''re on another site it might be good to share the plan there too and increase the possibilities for all concerned.
Ps. The food is ALWAYS great there so you will enjoy it even if you don't see any feathers :)

Yeah - unfortunately the people here (living in the area) actually have to work through the fest...
Sadly for us - the one day we could have met up - we were already 20kms out of town before we knew it was a possibility!

I must say festival vibe does nothing for "intimacy" - friends want to meet us in an "intimate" resturant tonight... I roared with laughter when I heard that one - it's friggin festival! Every food joint in the place is packed to the rafters!
There is NO privacy, NO intimacy, NO quiet spot for sexy chat!
It's fun though :)
